I really enjoyed the whole concept of a magic farm.I've been making progress toward my goal of reading all of the 2012-2013 Mark Twain Readers Award nominees. Polly had a definite personality and a lot of fight. " I just found this by accident but let me tell you that this book was amazing!! I love all the detail in the crazy magic farm, and I did get really invested in the mysterious rainfall problem!

I think it's aimed a little younger than the YA books I usually read and enjoy, so for me, 3 stars. " Very quirky read about a family with a rhubarb farm and the events that take place there. " It was a spectacular book!!! People who want to read a book about magic then read Drizzle!!! " I really enjoyed this one, although I felt like it bogged down a bit about 3/4 of the way through. " This was an amazing book! Definitly a good beach read. " Really good inspiring book awesome!!!! :) Good for a child that likes offbeat stories. Overall Performance: Narration Rating: Story Rating:.“A delightfully quirky and original story with enjoyably complex characters.” This heartwarming tale will appeal to all ages, and it is made memorable by a main character who will be missed as the story comes to an end.” “Van Cleve’s first novel for younger readers is sure to be an instant hit…complete with magic, mystery, and…coming-of-age with a twist. The water conservation message at its core will make young, activist readers cheer for Polly as she works with friends, and sometimes with enemies, to bring back the rain and save the world.” “Polly’s wry interaction with Harry and other plants and wild creatures is the best part of this debut fantasy that has an environmental slant. “Polly’s gradual discovery of her own strange power and the joy she takes in her ability to help those she loves best is both entertaining and gratifying.”

“With a sense of magic that recalls Ingrid Law’s Savvy…Van Cleve’s debut is emotionally subtle and action packed with a highly memorable setting.” - Publishers Weekly (starred review)
